Brendan Fenn's photographic style is a modern spin on classic portraiture. His approach takes advantage of modern tools and technology, while maintaining the integrity and honesty of the classic portrait.
Brendan learned the ropes of the commercial photography business by assisting and interning at New York based Art Department, one of the world's top photo agencies.
Drawing influence from an eclectic variety of sources such as Graffiti, Rock 'n' Roll, Film Noir, and vintage photography, Brendan is constantly inspired and never short of ideas. "As a photographer, it's all about your bag of tricks. You've got to have something up your sleeve both creatively, and technically to give your photos that little extra something."
Brendan volunteers with The David Suzuki Foundation, is a canoe enthusiast, and collects old cameras. The above photos are from a photography workshop Brendan recently conducted for university students in Havana, Cuba. The students there have limited access to both equipment and film. They were quick learners and produced some fantastic polaroid portraits.
